The Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the recipients of our Future Business Builders Bursary. This initiative supports the education and professional development of Chamber members, their staff, and their children by investing in both trades training and workforce development opportunities. Congratulations to this year’s bursary winners, whose commitment to learning and skill development helps strengthen local workplaces and the regional economy.
Recipients receive up to one thousand dollars to support either accredited trades education in Alberta or short term workforce training such as leadership development, safety certifications, and upskilling.
Eligibility for the Future Business Builders Bursary is designed to deliver value straight back to our membership. Applicants must be a Bonnyville Chamber member, a staff member of a Bonnyville Chamber member, or a child of a Bonnyville Chamber member, including children of Chamber member employees. This structure keeps the focus on strengthening the people behind our member businesses, whether that means supporting an apprentice in the trades, helping an employee earn a critical certification, or enabling skills development that improves performance and opportunity.
The direct benefit to members is clear. By reducing barriers to training and certification, the program helps build a more skilled and job ready workforce for local employers, supports safer workplaces through recognized certifications, and strengthens leadership capacity within member organizations. When our members can develop and retain skilled people, businesses are more resilient, service levels improve, and our community is better positioned for long term growth. This is one of the most practical ways the Chamber can return value to the people who invest in membership and participate in Chamber activities.
Funding for the Future Business Builders Bursary comes from Chamber led fundraising efforts. Thirty percent of funds raised through our Annual Golf Tournament are allocated to this program, along with twenty five percent of funds raised through Chamber Trips. The Chamber extends sincere thanks to the sponsors, participants, and member businesses whose support makes these bursaries possible and ensures that funds raised through Chamber activity are reinvested into the growth of our membership.
