The Mission of the Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce is to stimulate and encourage local economic growth for our members through representation, support, and promotion.
Governance Roles and Responsibilities
The Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce encompasses all of its Members, Board of Directors and the Chamber Staff.
Members: The Membership is responsible to provide feedback and insight regarding the projects, events, support, promotion, advocacy and initiatives of the Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce to the chamber Board of Directors.
Board of Directors: The Board of Directors are comprised of members (in good standing) who are elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting, as well as an appointed representative from both the Town of Bonnyville and the MD of Bonnyville. The Board of Directors are appointed to provide leadership, direction, insight, and support to the chamber staff. Board Directors are required to attend monthly board meetings, the annual general meeting, and join a minimum of one chamber committee. Overall, the Board of Directors guide the operations and the strategic direction of the Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber Staff: The Executive Director manages the chamber of commerce including its employees, operations, strategic initiatives, partnerships, sponsorship opportunities, public relations and resources. The Project Coordinator provides event coordination and planning, communications, administration and additional project support to the chamber. In combination, the Executive Director and Project Coordinator ensure the execution of all chamber operations, projects, initiatives, events, administration, and partnerships as directed by the Board of Directors.
International Chamber of Commerce: With a global network of over 6.5 million members in more than 130 countries, the International Chamber of Commerce works to promote international trade, responsible business conduct and a global approach to regulation through our unique mix of advocacy and standard setting activities – together with market leading dispute resolution services.
Canadian Chamber of Commerce: The Canadian Chamber of Commerce connects businesses of all sizes, from all sectors and regions of the country to advocate for public policies that will foster a strong, competitive economic environment that benefits businesses, communities and families across Canada.
Alberta Chamber of Commerce: Acts as an advocate for Alberta Business, the Alberta Chambers of Commerce are our Provincial resource, championing ideas, harnessing energy and collectively moving forward sensible solutions for small business.
Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce: Collects feedback from the membership regarding all levels of government that pertains to the business community and provides the information to the provincial, federal and international governing bodies through their representatives. In addition, participates in policy development and support through the Alberta and Canadian Chambers of Commerce system.
